Karen Millen Party for FN with Mary-Louise Parker

Last week I shot a couple of parties for Conde Nast. The first was the store opening for Karen Millen.

Mary-Louise Parker

Everyones favorite pot dealing suburban mom, Mary-Louise Parker was there. I have shot her a few times. She is gorgeous.

There were socialites and models there as well.

Poppy Delevigne

Poppy Delevigne was there in a beautiful orange Karen Millen dress.

Karen and her company were there in force.

Karen Millen and creative director Gemma Metheringham

Fellow designer Lucy Sykes came out to show her support to another Brit.

The store is great. There are mirrors and fantastic lighting, as evidenced by the flare in this next shot.

Tse Men Party for DNR with Julianne Moore

Augustine Tse

Another Party I shot last week for Conde Nast was the opening of the Tse Men flagship store in soho. The Designer Augustine Tse was there. He is a hoot. He was laughing and joking the whole time.

Julianne Moore came out. It is hard to take a bad photo of her.

Julianne Moore

She works out at my gym. I see her there from time to time. A lot of the celebs I shoot work out at my gym. They have a great database. I am going to hack into their system one day and collect addresses of celebs. I am going to start publishing NYC star maps and set up a booth next to the Naked Cowboy in Times Square. I bet I would make a mint selling maps with Nate Berkus and Anderson Cooper's houses on them.

Back to the party.

Alison Day

VP of Marketing for Tse, Alison Day, was rocking a great silver jacket.

The MisShapes were the DJs. Below is the gorgeous
Leigh Lezark.

FN Shoe Star with Nine West

My biggest editorial client right now is Conde Nast's Fairchild Publications. They are the publisher of WWD, DNR and FN. Everyone knows WWD, some know DNR, and only people in the industry know FN (Footwear News). It is funny cause all three are in the same family, same building and even on the same server. When I tell someone "I shot for FN tonight." I get a blank look. When I explain that it is WWD for the shoe industry they understand.

Although FN does not get the recognition the other magazines do, they are a great client. I love shooting for them. They are super appreciative and the footwear people in general are mensch.

Recently FN has teamed up with Nine West to do their version of Project Runway. It is called FN Shoe Star. They have 7 students from FIT competing. They have challenges and big name guest judges from the foot wear industry.

They have asked me to shoot the stills for the magazine and the web. I shot the second installment this week. It was a blast. I will provide updates and links where you can see the webisodes as they come out.

Great Massage Therapist Elizabeth McGann/Well-Being Ninja

I got a great massage a couple of days ago. Over the years I have tried a bunch of massage therapists, and Elizabeth McGann is the best. I have been seeing her for years now. The first time I had a session I couldn't focus my eyes, everything was blurry, it was amazing.

She has launched a website www.wellbeingninja.com. She works on a lot of celebs and gets booked up fast. She has a location in Union Square and Williamsburg. If you are in need of bodywork or just want to relax I recommend you give Elizabeth a call.

Give Pur Water

I came across this and had to share it. Unsafe drinking water is a huge killer in the developing world. Proctor and Gamble have come up with new technology to make safe drinking water. Check out the video to see it in action.

You add powder to the dirty water (it is more like sludge in some cases) and stir for 5 minutes. Then strain the water with a cotton cloth and wait 30 minutes. The powder traps the dirt, parasites, viruses and other stuff. It all collects on the bottom.

This video is pretty dramatical, with the acoustic guitar being plucked and the soccer mom voice over. Watching the product in action, however, is pretty cool.

You can donate to the project or buy P&G products with special coupons and they will make a donation.
